Re: Another stray showed up

I'm trying so hard to find 1. an apartment I can afford, and 2. one that will allow two cats. There's one I found last night that would have been perfect until I read their cat deposit. For TWO cats, the security deposit is $800+! The rent on the place is only $550 a month! Give me a friggin' break, man.

I've got a short list of potential places, I just need those landlords to actually call me back and set up a viewing since I work weird hours. This is so unbelievably frustrating.

I know it must be frustrating, but I know there is the perfect place out there!! I agree, $800 is a ridiculous deposit. Cats typically do not do a lot of damage unless they have litter box issues and particularly with carpet. At least they don't chew the wood all all up!! (well not most of them, Chunk went through a period of chewing on the corners of my desk!)

Keeping my fingers crossed!!

No calls from any of the landlords I contacted over the long weekend. I just want to bring my babies home. :(

I have now. There were two units I sent e-mails about.

I heard back from my #1 choice today letting me know about their office hours and appointment options. I e-mailed them back to see what their stance is on multiple cats. Hopefully it won't be an issue. But they're at the very top edge of my price range... double hopefully I fall in love with something cheaper. Blarggggh.

Oooookay, appointment scheduled at 9 on Friday to view an apartment at my #1 choice. Wish me luck; I really want this all to come to an end so I can get the move done and bring my babies home!

You are going to love this...and hopefully it will stick, but Doc has decided he is quite the lap cat. I have tried to get him to get on my lap while sitting on the floor with no luck. But today I came over to the trailer to do some work and opened the door to the back room so he could come in to the kitchen/living area. Well I sat down on the sofa and up he jumped...made himself right at home on my lap! I have a pic I will upload later for you. He is so precious and sweet! Hoping this apartment works out for you...I know you, Izzy, and Doc are going to be such a great family.

Playing in the kitty tunnel (Willow always loved this tunnel...*sigh*)

You can see the fur is coming back in on his nose!

I really hope he stays a cuddler like this <3

He is so precious, I could friggin' cry.

I've been on an emotional roller coaster all day, though. I had the sweetest, kindest patients on my phone this morning. Just beautiful people, made me really love my job and feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives. Everything wants to move me to tears today. I'm such a mush-ball!

I want that Doc-boy in my lap. Like, right now. Meeting the lady for the apartment in less than 12 hours. I need to crunch some numbers and make sure I can afford it.

I got one other e-mail back on a rental unit. They e-mailed me back saying as soon as I get a credit report through them, they'll set up a viewing! Upsets me that people probably fall for that crap all the time. As much as I love having my identity stolen, I think I'll have to pass for now...
