Scribs almost caught a deer this evening

Post by BoxerTom »

I let her out and a big one was just standing there about 20 yds away. Scribs slowly crept a few feet in the deer's direction then sprinted after it, the deer seemed startled and just stood there, taking off at the last second. Scribs almost caught it and I now wonder what she would do - would she stop and bark or try to bring it down? Any guesses??

I don't want to think about it! I'd be devastated if one of my dogs hurt such a beautiful animal! And, I think a deer that big could probably do some damage to a dog - yikes, definitely don't want to think about that!

I'm not sure what she would do...or Mr. Blue either...

I do think it's neat that you have deer so close to your house! We have deer visit the meadows near our house where I walk Mr. Blue, but we've only seen them running away in the distance. I'm afraid that, if he was off leash, Mr. Blue would try to get one, but I really don't know. He's never dealt with an animal that big.
