Annie is a small, beautiful, sweet, and very shy sheltie owned by Dylan's breeder. She had puppies 7 days ago, but had quit eating a week before the delivery. She had no milk and they've lost 3 of the 5 pups. The remaining 2 are being nursed by one of her other dogs (China - Dylan's mom) who also had a litter at a couple of weeks earlier. Today they found out Annie has severe cancer of the pancreas, liver, and gall bladder and they will be sending her to The Bridge tomorrow morning.
Scroll down, Annie is at the bottom of the page. China (at the top of the page) is the surrogate mom.

Please keep Annie, her human family, and her surviving pups in your thoughts and prayers.
Run free without pain sweet girl.

What beautiful girls...I am so sorry for Annie and her family....
Safe Journey Sweet Annie....
The song from Annie just popped into my mind....The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow...for Annie her days will become brighter while a shining star is gently turned off...for now....

I'm so very sorry, Karen, I know this must be difficult on you as well, as you are part of the family. My heart and prayers are with Annie and her family, human and canine alike, this is so sad
Safe and gentle journey, sweet Annie...((((((HUGS))))))

Re: Annie
It is hard for me, much harder than I would have expected. I've only seen this dog once - on the day I went to N.Carolina to pick up Dylan. Annie usually wouldn't go to people, but I got down on the ground and put my hand out, all the time talking sweetly to her, and she came to me and let me pet her. I felt very special that she would let me do that. She was a very beautiful dog, in more than just one way.

Re: Annie
She sounds like a very special girl. Her spirit will live on through her pups, and through the memories you all have of her. *hugs*
Re: Annie
I am so sorry, Karen. These swift, secretive cancers that often go undiagnosed in canines until too late scare me to pieces... that's what happened to my beloved German shepherd. It is good that we have The Bridge to think of... Join me as, smiling through our tears, we picture big friendly Winnie romping out to welcome sweet little Annie - and we will know that someday everything is going to be fine for all of us!

Dot, what a sweet picture. I'd love to think your Winnie found Annie and they are running like crazy through a field of flowers.
I just hate it when they're gone. It hurts too much - even losing this lovely dog I hardly knew. I guess it hurts because I knew her story and the people who loved her. She was supposed to go to a new forever home after this last litter was weaned. I had wished I could take her myself, but I just can't aford another one. It wouldn't be fair to the dogs I have now or to a new one. Her new owner was ready for her, so I'm not the only one missing her from afar.
