The vet did call me back...if Bud has not had a movement by tomorrow morning, he will do an enema...but he wants to see if the CatLax will help before doing that....they are open Saturday mornings, so it is not an extra call or visit or anything if we need to go....

He sent home some canned food as well....not sure what since hubby picked him up, but I am assuming C/D....he said Bud did eat that well while he was there this morning....

Glad to hear vet will see Bud in morning if necessary.

Keep a good eye on him today/tonite, you know I don't want to scare you, but need to make sure impaction isn't developing. If he starts straining in box, howling, crying out, painful in abdomen, refusing to eat/drink or vomiting, don't hesitate to get him in immediately (on emergency).

oh definitely I will get him in if that happens....the Vet said right now it was not severe, problably more in the discomfort stages, but enough to keep him from going...so hopefully the CatLax will do the job....and the canned food along with that....

They asked me if he had been chewing on his fur, because I did not even think to mention that he had a massive matte of fur above his hips and it took a few sessions for him to let me cut it out, bit by bit....once he realized it felt better as I was snipping and slicing away, he would lay for longer periods...and his bottom jaw would wobble up and down really fast...hahaha.....

He has also lost a tad bit of weight lately, so is able to groom himself better....so hopefully it is just a huge furball that needs to pass....I hope...

I will keep you posted...

Well...nothing moved lastnight, although Bud did come upstairs during the night and he seems more alert/active....

Soooo..he is at the vet's again and will receive an enema this morning and we will pick him up this afternoon....

I'll keep you posted on progress (I hope!)

Aww...poor Bud!! I bet he doesn't feel so great if he's not regular...it's enough to make anyone miserable. I'm glad you found out what is going on and he's being taken care of Tambrey

The vet just came in to read the paper...he comes into the library if the office is not busy and they call him here is they need him...

anyways....WE HAVE SUCCESS!!!!...he will probably charge us DOUBLE for the MESS...but I am sure Bud is going to be feeling a whole lot better soon!

I will keep him in the entry hall this weekend and just let him rest and eat and sleep on his own without anyone else bugging him...

Can we hope that's all it is? Did vet say what stool looked like, consistency, etc?

I am hoping that's all it is...that is why I am going to continue to keep him separate over the weekend so I can monitor food/water intake and output of anything...as well as just let him rest and get to feeling better...and there is no place to go hide in the halls, so if he IS still feeling yucky, he cannot go hide from me! I will know right away...

As to consisteency, etc...The vet did not say, I did not ask, because there were other people here and I was busy when he came in...I just saw him get a paper, asked him how Bud was, and he just said we were successful, so no one around had to hear details!!

When I called later, he had been called back to the office from here, so he was still busy, but I asked the girl to leave a note with instructions, any food we need for him, etc...on the kennel where he was resting...
Hubby did not get back from a call in the city in time to pick Bud up before the office closed, but he has a key since he is their computer tech, so he went to get Bud after they closed...I told them he would and that is why I asked for a note and instructions, food, etc...

If it is not mentioned on the note, I will call Monday and get more details...
