Prayers for the Golden Cat

Post by Tambrey »

That is what I have dubbed him...

I was at our doctor office and came out to see a nurse at the dentist office down the block kneeling down and a golden cat laying in front of her...I stopped to ask if she was trying to catch it and she said no, it had climbed into a truck engine outside the office to get warm, and no one knew until it came flying out when the farmer started his truck

the poor kitty was laying there crying...its tail was ripped off and back leg mangled, bleeding from its mouth...plus other injuries...

I asked if she called for help and she said, yes, over an hour ago and no one still had come...

I went to the vet's office and unfortunately the tech was there alone...the vets are on farm calls and no one due back until 4:30...she said she had called the police when she got the call and assumed they had gone and picked it up and "disposed" of it as they are prone to do....ggrrrrr  but being alone in the office, she had no other choice but to call them to help...

I asked her for a carrier and I went back...of course when I got close enough and set the carrier down, it tried to run and fell off the curb and under another truck...I tried to gently move it towards the carrier, but when I touched its ribs, it yowled out as well...lucky the guys around here like their trucks jacked up, so I was able to get down under the truck with the carrier and a "piddle pad" to drape over my arms and around it to shield its view some and coaxed it into the carrier...

When I took him back to the clinic, the tech looked at him and said he is the one who has been coming around out back at night in the shelter of their covered porch area, but they had not been able to catch him yet...

Of course, being a "Stray" the only thing the vet can do is to send him across the Bridge

Safe and gentle journey across the Rainbow Bridge Golden Cat....may you run free and swish that tail and kick up from your hind legs to catch at the butterflies...

Enjoy your freedom baby

I'm so sorry, Tambrey, but perhaps the vet would see this kitty's strong will for life (and apparent luck from the accident(s) and save his life..?

My thoughts and prayers are with this sweet baby.....((((((HUGS)))))))

I don't know Traci....the local vets are more "hardened" or whatever you want to call it...and they do not have the means to do the surgeries that this one might need...they have done amputations and so forth...but I just don't know with probable broken ribs, bleeding from mouth and ear...I suspect head injuries as well...

It would be great if they do decide to give him a chance...but if not, he will be free from pain and never have to search for a warm bed or scrounge for a meal ever again...

HBC injuries can sometimes appear much much worse than they truly are (thus the need for extensive exam, etc)

But, I understand.

All I can do is pray either way...hubby is going to be there tonight working on a computer that seems to be giving them some trouble...he can never find anything wrong, but when the vet uses it, he has troubles...

I will ask him if he saw the Golden Cat in a cage because the computer he will be working on is in the observation room right off of the main desk area and it has a big window in it for them to watch recovering critters...
