...there! Do your dogs ever get into spats with each other over who gets to have the attention of their people first? Remember, this question comes from a 1-dog person, who's very interested in adding another dog to the pack. Of course, that leads to the whole issue of husbandly unwillingness...

No spats over people attention, but occassionally there is one over treats. That is rare because when that happens both dogs involved lose the treat! They have learned that fighting over treats is a lose lose proposition and if one steals from another I take it back and give it to the original owner. They seem to be smart enough to realize that if another dog goes after thier treat, they will get it back if they don't fight. A bit of reasoning that some people refuse to believe that dogs have.

Dogs don't know about bills or work. They have a warm place in winter, and a cool place in summer and never have to worry about food or water. Of course they are happy.
