Does dogs have nightmares or dreams too?

Post by chloebaby »

the reason why i ask is because one night as my wife and i are watching tv and Chloe is sleeping in my lap. at first she started making the noise like she was drinking water and sticking a little bit of her tongue out, which we thought was cute.

then everything was fine until she started growling with her upper side lips raised up showing her teeth. but she was dead asleep.. till i stroke her and she woke up like nothing had happened.

is that normal?

Sure they dream. I love to watch them as they run and bark in their sleep - it's wonderful to imagine what they might be chasing. Dogs are so much like us, it's almost scary.

Yes. They do dream. I wonder what their dreams are like.

in that case.. we feel better. cuz at first i thought chloe is losing her mind or something. sometimes when we see her run around or just simply playing by herself.. it almost seems like she thinks she is human at one point and then thinks of herself a dog in another. so weird.. hehe

I love to watch my pup sleep when she has a dream she is chasing something (maybe a squirrel or bunny) her feet go like mad..very funny.
Chloe is such a doll - very sweet.

yeah.. chloe is a like a doll.. sometimes when she is in our bed as we watch tv.. she'll be sleeping on her back like we do and putting a blanket to cover her tummy. lol
