if the medicine is in a tube with a nozzle, try to keep the gland opened for a while becauwe they heal from the inside out...if it really looks bad then call your vet but it should do ok

We're back. Huey got the staples out just fine....leg looks good. As for the anal gland rupture.....they cleaned out both glands....also cleaned out the wound from the rupture - put antibiotic all over it and gave me clavamox to give him twice a day. No ointment to put in the wound. Poor little guy....I think he's quite uncomfortable back there now after them messing with the area to clean it up. But hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quick and make him feel better.
