My cat had 3 kittens on Monday evening. She is a doting mother but in 4 days she has lost a great deal of weight. I have been feeding her kitten food and offering kitty milk and water. I've offered chicken and porridge (made with kitty milk) which she used to love. She seems to have lost her appitite. I would appreciate some advice.
Its not that she is too worried to leave the kittens, because she wanders off quite regularly, going for a lay by the fire.... but rushing back at the slightest wimper from her brood. Kittens are chubby and settled.
She is also bleeding a little is that normal? If so how long will that last.

you indicated loss of appetite and that is not normal. a prompt vet visit is in order, she should be eating more to sustain herself and kitties. call you vet and explain in detail what is going on...they might be able to give some quick dietary advice on the phone (food you havent tried yet, like maybe canned cat food or something).

if it's bright red, then call a vet asap, if its just a discharge that contains a small amount of blood than 3-7 days post delivery is normal.
