Negrito poops on the floor outside the litter box every AM..

He is healthy and happy. I am not sure why he does this every AM. I have a kitchen with a service room attatched. The food bowls are in the kitchen and the 2 litter boxes are in the service room. I have 6 cats. The litter boxes are washed and cleaned everyday, scooped twice a day. I have tried various litters and moving the boxes around the room but nothing works. I have to keep the litter boxes in the service room and I have to keep the bowls in the kitchen. There is really no other place for them. The floors are washed everyday and I usually clean the poop up with paper towels and then bleach. He poops right in front of the boxes. He pee's inside the box. I have seen him poop in the box, he only poops outside the box in the early AM before I get up. If he poops during the day he poops inside the box. I have tried that liquid cat repellent on the floor and that does not work either. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions? I know he gets very hungry in the AM but I will not feed him any earlier because of the alarm clock kitty syndrome. They eat 3 times a day, noon, 6pm and midnight. Thanks.

You might simply provide another litterbox. Sometimes this solves the problem alone. I have found that with multiple cats, another litterbox will suffice when one occasionally goes outside the box. Who knows their reasons, they could be anything from not feeling enough privacy to wanting a box all their own.
