Kittens and Frontline
Hi there
How old should m kittens be before I put frontline on them? It is the Pipette ones (the ones hat you apply directly to their skin) not the spray...
Thanks!

Hi~
Advantage is formulated for kittens starting at 8 weeks of age. Please consult your vet for the proper amount (comes packaged by weight).
Frontline should only be used at 12 weeks and over.

Actually, Frontline shouldn't be used until kittens are 12 weeks of age.

What about Revolution?
Re: Kittens and Frontline
The MSDS states 6 weeks and older, but also must take into account weight and health status.Jen wrote:What about Revolution?
Anytime you are unsure about a certain flea product, never hesitate to contact your vet, he can tell you about the products and recommend the safest ones for your cats and their individual needs. NEVER use over-the-counter products, never use outdated or expired products, always consult your vet about the product you wish to use.

Re: Kittens and Frontline
Just wanted to check. I have just given the one kitten the frontline. I tried to put it on her neck between her shoulders but she moved while I was doing it and got some on her shoulders. She proceeded to lick it and then foamed heavily from her mouth. I rinsed her mouth out with water. Will it be ok? I did phone my vet earlier and he told me that they could probably drink one and all that would happen is they would get sick...
Any thoughts?

Re: Kittens and Frontline
No worries - just found this on the Frontline.com web site:
What if my pet licks his coat following application with FRONTLINE?
FRONTLINE has very high safety profile in cats and dogs. However the alcohol base may cause some transient salivation if the application site is licked before the product has dried.
Shew! I feel much happier now...
