Warm Vaccintations and STILL HAS WORMS..HELP!

Post by slickajj »

I had my 1+ year old kitties vaccintated end of April 2003 for worms, etc. Two-Three-months later, they STILL have worms. They like to stay in the yard and chase moths and bugs, which is probably the reason, but what do I do?? Is it safe to get them another vaccination within 6 months?

Help!

Vaccinations are for infectious disease, such as distemper, feline leukemia, rabies, etc. Deworming meds are for worms (tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, etc)

As long as you allow your cats outdoors, they will be habitually infected with worms, fleas, mites, etc.

Talk to your vet about getting them dewormed again. And, NEVER use over-the-counter products for cats, they are ineffective and some are toxic, enough to be fatal.

I would strongly suggest acclimating your cats indoors only, there are too many various outdoor hazards for them. They would be healthier and happier indoors.

I agree and also speak to the vet about using Advantage or Frontline for flea control, even if you keep them inside it is best to treat them.

Good luck!!
