Cat pees in the bath tub?

We put our cat in the bathroom from time to time if we have company or were goign to be coming in and out of the house... hes about 4 months old and he uses the litter box just fine. Except we found a horrible stench coming from the bathroom and didnt know why. it didnt smell of cat poo. Well we moved the shower curtain back and the WHOLE bathtub is covered in dried up cat pee!!! theres no poo in it just pee. Why is he doing this? ALSO when we are in our master bathroom we have a low shower and well be showering and hell come into the tub with the water on stand there get wet and pee. then just walk away! whats with the bath tub obsession!?!

Well....if you put if he was in the tub and had no litterbox in there with him of course he's going to go where he can. Did you have a box in the bathroom? Could he get out of the tub and to the box? How long does he have to stay confined? Since he seems to be urinating inappropriately the first thing I'd recommend is take him to the vet for a check up to make sure it is nothing physical. I don't think urinary infections are common at 4 months, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Do you keep his boxes clean daily? More than one box? Is his box easily accessible? yes he has a litter box yes it is clean, he checked out fine and dandy last vet check. and hes never confined very long. Like i said... he only PEES in the bathtub. he poops in his box. My other concern is why he gets in the tub with us (not the same bathroom as the one he is normally in) and pees. Is he crazy?

no he's not crazy. Some cats prefer to have seperate litter boxes for pee and poop. Try giving him a second box. I'd say maybe it was the litter he is adverse to, but if he uses the box for poop then it's probably not the litter. So try the second box and make sure you keep them very clean. You say he checked out fine and dandy last vet check, how long ago was that? If it wasn't recently I'd take him in again and ask the vet specifically to check for urinary problems.
