Re: need emergancy help, Lost cat

I have searched different hours of the day and night. Last night I went out there at 12 pm, and I now really feel sorry for him. There is a lot of weird noises and things rusling in the bush. I am going to try again tonight around 1 or 2 in the morning and follow some of the advice I have read here.
Her intenion was to give him to her freind who knew a lady that would take him in. Her friends husband for unknown reasons to me dropped him off at a gravel pit. I am still finding it hard to forgive her cause she still doesn't get it, how much he ment to me. last night being alone in the bush was really scarry so I can just imagine how he feels, or felt. There are people that love animal's and people that think they are just an object to entertain and throw out when they are bored of it. I had to go out for a drink and something to eat at our local bar in between my searchs, and after my bartender asked why I was so bummed out, she almost started to cry when I told her my story. She had tatoos from head to toe and so did the guy next to me and he was clearly upset at the whole thing, I totally did not expect the reaction I got from them. I guess my point is that before I went out to look for Durango I got a strip ripped off me from her Mother about getting over my stupid cat. I was kind of feeling silly about how I was feeling about my cat until I the reaction I received at the bar, and on this board, he was part of my family.
Sorry for the long post

I feel like I could cry about it too... (I have no tattoos, though)

JUST DON'T GIVE UP! I have heard and seen the most amazing stories of recovery. Have faith!

Oh wow! I am so sorry about your cat! What is his name?

Anyone here can tell you that I have little tolerance (if any) for people who mistreat animals, especially cats. I don't know if I could forgive someone who took my cat off with so little regard for my feelings.

Please strongly evaluate your relationship with this woman. I can't say, "Throw her out," or anything like that, since I know that you have a history with her, and it's not that simple for you. However, I must point out that if she has such little concern for something so important to you, what else is next? And the fact that this issue involves the cat, who is a living being makes it seem even that much more callous. What can the cat do to help itself? It depends on its human(s) to protect it - not throw it aside. What if you did that to her cat - or worse yet, her child? (I realize there's a big difference between a cat and a child, but the point exists.)

Please let us know if/when you find your kitty. Keep searching. There's still hope.

We're praying that your kitty somehow finds its way back to you SOON.

Oh wow, this actually did make me cry. I would try to I can't belive anyone would do something like that. I don't trust people who don't have any compassion for animals. Anyway. Did anyone mention the litter yet?
Take some of the used litter out of your cat's litter box and place it somewhere near where the cat is lost... reember the spot where you placed it. It will act like a beacon to your cat and then you can go to that spot and look for him and call him. He'll probably show up there. Since he is so far from home it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a box with an unwashed shirt in it of yours and put it out there. He might crawl into it and wait there for you. Another suggestion is to take some of the smelliest canned cat food you can find, or even tuna and take it with you when you are looking for him. When Isis was missing we received some of these suggestions after a week of looking for her. We put out a throw pillow that my daughter uses and within 3 hours the cat was back. I'm not sure if it was the pillow or not, but I'm not doubting it either.

One more thing... I'm not sure where you are but I think this website is nationwide it's a good resource, you can post a photo of your cat and search found animals.

www.1888pets911.org

Our county animal control lists all of the found pets on this site. which i think is awesome!

You can also go to www.meowhoo.com and look up in our internal search engine Sherlock Bones- he has a wonderful downloadable ebook available off his website dealing with how to find lost cats. He does charge a small fee, but trust me, it is worth the price.

Out of the two possiable sitings, took a picture of Durango to them and one said he was not the cat they seen, the other said they were positive it was him. That was about a mile from where he was dumped on Thursday night, but seen on the Saturday. I was going to set up a live trap but there is so many wild animals and stray cats in that area (40 or so cats at one farm alone). I want to thank everyone for all the support. I will keep you posted
