Time for me to step away from this conversation.
Seeing how I clip my parrot's wings too... But then, my parrot escaped through an opening of a window and was gone for 3 AGONIZING DAYS... We found him quite through a miracle, he had flown 5 miles away and he had to endure rain storms and hawks and eagles.
Flying is fun, but living is better.

Declawing Alternatives
Re: Declawing Alternatives
opinions are fine, however this board is not a free for all: "whatever you want to say and however you want to say it". check the rules on the main site and also the faq.bertie wrote:Jason I think we have definitely got different cultural opinions working here. I am entitled to my opinion on cat declawing and I don't see why I should tone my opinions down I wasn't insulting anyone.
dont hide behind a country or region to justify your own feelings. i dont feel a certain way about declawing because i am citizen of the united states.Bertie wrote:Over here in the UK cat declawing is only done if absolutely necessaryif at all becasue we appreciate that cats are independant creatures and I have never met a vet who has condoned it. Cats are not toys we don't OWN them they own us. Perhaps where you live cats are not a suitable pet for your location. You obviously have a different way of thinking in the US.
never mentioned intelligence, you can have more degrees than a thermometer and be dumber than a stump...once again, you need to not justify your feelings based on outside influences that are not personal (country you live in, kind of degree you have, etc)Bertie wrote:As for my adolescent tone, I find that very offensive, I'm 21 years of age with a Sociology degree so i'm not lacking intelligence as you so ruefully suggested.
recognizing that should of been all you said here, everything else has been quite repetive.Bertie wrote:Yeah ok passion perhaps did take over
its your OPINION that its cruel in all situations, take your passionate cause elsewhere.Bertie wrote:but whats wrong with sticking up for animals who suffer so much cruelty at the hands of humans that they need a voice. I would also like to know what the difference is between being cruel to humans and being cruel to animals?
you point fingers when you call what people do cruel. you are calling people cruel. its should not be hard for a college student to find logic in such discussions.Bertie wrote: I would also like to say that I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone, all I was meerly doing was expressing my opinion as I thought members here were allowed to have an adult debate about issues that concern them.
i dont needyour permission, Bertie...or Nick..or whatever name you want to use...you could of at least got a new ip address before posting as Nick.Bertie wrote:Other people have expressed strong opinions on this issue so why jump down my throat? If you want to remove me from the board please do so because it's obvious that my opinions are not allowed to count however valid they are, I don't know what you have against me and personally I don't really care.
excellent, good for you and your kitties...expecially your kitties.Bertie and Nick wrote:All I know is that I love my cats and I would never do anything to remove their freedom and independence just to suit me. I give them the love, food, shelter and warmth they deserve and they reward me.
you see (you probably dont) how you point fingers, name call, assume the world revolves around your head? no one needs your prophecy over us...telling us the real reason declawing was invented was some sort of sadistic inferiority control tactic.Bertie and Nick wrote:Declawing is a punishment, designed to make humans feel they are in control.
your banned...both of you.
come back as someone else, and it will get messy. dont bother with this, you wont want the hassle.
