animal communicators

Post by Jen »

Has anyone had any personal experience with animal communicators?
here is why I ask:
I have a cat spraying. He was vet checked after the first incident and was cleared of any UTI and his urinalysis was OK.
I found several spots that I do not know who did them but he definitely did 2 of them and today as I sat on the bed, he stood behind me and sprayed on my back!
A fellow rescue volunteer recommended an animal communicator that she has used successfully in the past. Do I call her? or what would you alll do as your next step?

i think animal communicators are a crock....and i am unanimous in that...i suspect, if this is a male you have an endocrine imbalance, neutered or not...if it were my patient i would check the urine out for infection and if no infection then try some hormone replacement....i think a vet, urine check would be in order...and if you are in doubt as to which cat, ask you vet the possiblity of injection of flurosecen into one cat and that will show up in the urine that is expelled...just some thoughts.,

I tend to agree with davet...I do believe that we can communicate with animals, but I think most of the animal communicators are like psychics...you don't know who is sincere and who isn't. Have you considered an animal behaviorist? I've had one consult with one behavior specialist and much of what he told me made sense. Of course it was a free email consult that was offered through an e-list I am on. His name is Jackson Galaxy and he works in conjunction with a DVM (Dr. Jean Hofve). I can't vouch for his credentials or anything though. He might be a quack too for all I know. However he seems less hard to believe than some of the animal communicators I've heard of. The website is

BTW...if anyone knows any more about Jackson Galaxy and Dr. Hofve I'd love to hear it, good or bad.

I know of Jackson and he is great! But, I have to disagree with davet- I do believe in communicators (though certainly not all of them) but one saved my horse a very long time ago when the best vets in the county could not. I even had him hospitilized at OSU Vet School and they could not help him- but this communicator did. She was my last desperate measure and thankfully she was not "The Pet Psychic" but the real deal.
