We've had Whiskers for 5 years now since she was a kitten.
Always been a playful and friendly cat whether with us or strangers.
Tonite, she turned on my mother, who she is normally the closest with, she kept stalking her and hissing at her as well as other noises that were none too friendly with the tail sticking straight up
She remains friendly with my stepfather and myself
My mother is terrified and we are bringing her to the vet tomorrow to make sure nothing is wrong, but has anyone ever exprienced a problem like this?
Their are a few things that happened that could have an effect
- We painted the outside of the house
- My mother cut her hair drastically shorter
our only thought is that she no longer recgonizes my mother with the new haircut, but that seems very odd
Any Help appreciated

Re: Strange Behavioral Change
my only guess would either be that your mother did something (other than the hair cut) that was overlooked/missed by everyone but your cat. or, since your mother is the closest to your cat, perhaps she is in some sort of pain and was trying to talk to your mother in a way she felt would get her attention.CrazyDubya wrote:our only thought is that she no longer recgonizes my mother with the new haircut, but that seems very odd
sorry, all speculation...please let us know how your vet visit goes and thanks for taking an active role on behalf of Whiskers health.
