Kelly~

Is this the kitten that had the eye and ear injuries? Did he have vaccinations or medicaton from the vet. My kitten slept for a day when she received her booster vaccinations. Hopefully if this is the case, he will come out later and eat and drink etc.

Please try to feed him, you do not want him to go too long without food and water.

If you do not see him come out by tomorrow, please call your vet for advice.

I agree with Mona - my cats have always acted that way when they get any types of vaccinations. It makes them kinda "antisocial" and a little depressed acting. Did your kitty get any vaccinations?

could you be a bit more definitive on when the vaccine was administered, your initial post gave the impression that this behavour began directly from returning from the vet...what was the visit for? what occured during this visit?

how long has your kitty not eaten anything? this could be quite serious. if your cat appears to behave differently directly from a vet visit, why have you not contacted this vet to discuss this? if you have, then please include that here.

seems to be some things missing from your explanation...just trying to help, but without knowing the full story all we can do is poke in the dark. of course, with all the facts it becomes nothing more than educated speculation.

my advice is to return to your vet or at the very least call them and discuss what you are seeing...be descriptive about it.

He got his vacc last week when i first got him!!
he just went yesterday to get his ear and eye checked (he goes every 3 days) and they are doing ok! it was when he came home that he started to act strange! and hid and wouldnt eat!!
he was out this morning but when i went over to him he ran and hid again??
is he just afraid i will bring him back to the vet???
he ate some of his food this morning!!
(vacc was his 2nd his first owner got the 1st one done at my vets)

he was a really playful kitten and now he seems afraid of me!!!
is it his trips to the vet???

since you have taken him to the vet twice within a week, he just might be thinking about it when you come around...if that is the case, it will pass in time. my cats have done this before as well.

keep a very close eye on him....if he stops eating or drinking then you know what to do...i think the others are correct at this point in assuming the vaccines (and the perhaps the entire visit...stressful) are to blame.

might want to move the food/water close to his current "hideout" (at least for now) to make him feel better about eating and drinking. if its stress that caused this, you just need to excercise love, patience and keeping all eyes on him till it has passed...dont force anything.

please update us on changes.
