What is your cat's temperature and how are you determining that fever? Have you taken the temperature, or does your kitty just feel hot? The reason I'm asking is that a cat's body average temperature is higher than the human "98.6" anyway, and I was wondering how you'd ascertained a fever in your kitty.

Has your kitty eaten anything lately that might have upset his stomach? Is he eating and drinking at all? If he's not, for how long has he gone without?

HOw is he acting? Is he really lethargic? What do his eyes and gums look like?

There are too many unanswered questions right now for any of us to give any suggestions..... It could be something that, if not treated, may only hurt your kitty to wait on.

I have a strong feeling that the only suggestions you're going to get is to take him to an ER vet right away. Most of us here aren't ones to wait when there are symptoms like fever and diarrhea.

Please get your kitty to the vet ASAP, ok? Let us know how he's doing!!

Sorry, but in the hour you were on the net, you could have made the trip to that ER vet clinic. I wouldn't wait til morning. The possibilities are endless, anything from toxicity of a plant, toxin, chemical, to infectious disease, to rancid food, etc.

Fever and diarrhea are medical EMERGENCIES, no matter how slight. Severe diarrhea, coupled with a fever, is serious and you need to get him hydrated IMMEDIATELY. This usually involves IV fluid support at your vet's, including anti-diarrheals, and medications to reduce the fever. Severe dehydration also leads to liver and kidney failure, and quite rapidly.

If you didn't adequately take his temperature with a rectal thermometer, you don't know what his temperature is. Normal feline temperature is 101-102.5, anything significantly higher or lower warrants an ER vet immediately.

Don't take risks with your kitty, he's depending on you to get him to the nearest ER vet clinic immediately! That one hour drive could mean the difference between life and death, we don't know if he's suffering a toxicity or infectious disease, or anything else at this point. To that clinic NOW please.
