My neighbor's horse Precious Rose went to that great pasture
We are heart broken. She got sick last week and was diagnosed with strep. The strep infection moved into the guttural pouch and affected the nerves to her tongue. Apparently the nerves were damaged so bad from the infection they couldn't repair. She could not swallow even though she was trying so hard to. Precious Rose was helped on her journey yesterday afternoon. We really hated this and I know my neighbor is just sick over losing her friend of 16 years. Precious was a wonderful horse, so gentle with the children. She was the first horse ride for my granddaughter. She will be missed.

I know she's grieving pretty deeply right now. She just lost her grandmother less than a month ago too. Her little boy, who is 2, is missing his Precious. They have had a lot of bad luck in the last couple of years. One of her horses caught his leg in the gate and hurt it badly. She sold that horse because he was quite a handful and needed more training than she had time for. Then Precious was kicked by another horse she was boarding and took a long time to heal from that. She's just had a rough time. It sure doesn't seem the same without Precious down there though.
