Cat litter other than clay

Post by Cleo »

Does anyone here use corn litter? Since my hospitalization for double pneumonia, the dust from the clay litter is killing me. I bought unscented corn litter today and just now, added a layer on top of the old litter in the boxes for transition. I'm hoping they will all adjust to it and I'll have luck with it as far as my lungs.

I'm not too worried about covering odors as I scoop at least 3 times a day. I was going to try Yesterday's News but I know for a fact these cats won't walk on those pellets.

Never tried it, I always use TidyCat scoopable - not willing to change it.

Hope it works, let us know.

I've never been thrilled with the corn litter myself. Or the S'wheat Scoop. I used the stuff made from walnut shells for a while and liked it but switched back to clay when Chunk was having urinary issues. I don't mind the litter made from paper either but it doesn't control odor nearly as well as clay.

I cannot find anything yet that is posted directly from the company about these claims....but something to consider and keep an eye out for

After a tip off by a member of the GMO Free USA community, we called "World's Best Cat Litter" and asked if their kitty litter contains Roundup Ready pesticide producing GMO corn. We were told that it does, and that they have been receiving inquiries from concerned customers. Roundup has been linked to kidney toxicity and a myriad of other health concerns. Our pets deserve better.

Thanks Tambrey, good to know. We didn't stick with it and went back to the usual Tidy Cats.
