What a beautiful boy. He clearly lived a life full of love. I'm sorry you had to say goodbye.

Awwww....I am so sorry you had to say goodbye to Rusty. May his journey be a safe and gentle one. Sweet boy. And may your memories sustain you in this tough time. I understand how tough it is.

Thank You all for the kind words, it's much appreciated. Rusty was the first one I ever had to do this to, and I still can't come to grips with my feelings

Mr and Mrs Double R, I am so terribly sorry, my heart just breaks for Rusty and you, all of us here understand what you are going through, and words cannot possibly convey our heartfelt sadness.

It is never easy, never, whether your first pet of several down the line, it is just simply, never easy. They choose us, they come into our lives and they leave us with the most precious lessons, and the most ultimate unconditional love we could ever hope to experience. The bond you shared will never be broken, here or in the everafter, it will always be. I hope you can find some semblance of peace in knowing that Rusty knew you did everything you possibly could, he knows how much you love and miss him and he knew he couldn't have asked for a better mommy and daddy to provide him so much love.

Please know you're not alone, our thoughts and prayers are with you and Rusty, your loss, sadness and heartbreak are truly shared by us. Safe and gentle journey, sweet sweet Rusty, ........(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))

I'm so sorry for your loss of Rusty. It's never easy letting go but you did all you could for him and did what was right. Hw was such a handsome boy and you should have lots of wonderful memories of good times with him. I hope you will always remember him with a smile.
((HUGS))
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

Thank you sooo much Traci for your kind words and compassion!! My husband and I are going thru a very hard time over this...in our minds we know we did the right thing, our hearts are just breaking right now. I held my baby in my arms as he took his last breath. We both want to thank EVERYONE for you love and prayers and kindness. Life wouldn't be the same without our pets...or "fur children" as I call them!! ((((HUGS)))) xxxooo. Melissa Ryan

Melissa, we are family here! We have shared many joys and sorrows, and Rusty is a part of our family. Thank you and Mr Double R for having shared your precious Rusty with us.

Please find comfort in knowing that in time, the pain will lessen, when it is replaced with precious memories, a special remembrance and thought, sorrow will be replaced with joy for having been blessed to have Rusty enter your life and for having taught you things that no human could ever imagine. Our pets are the most special gifts given us on earth, and they truly never leave us, nor our hearts. You are blessed for being chosen to be loved by Rusty, to have shared your life together, and he was so blessed to have you both, to have all the love and care he ever needed.

I know words are not as much comfort as I wish they could be, but know that they are true and heartfelt and we can all feel Rusty's love, with you.

My Emmycat was the first pet I ever had to put down. That awful feeling when the life leaves them will stay with you. But the pain will lessen over time and you'll have more happy memories than sad ones. I promise.
