Where is everybody??

Post by k9Karen »

OK, I know I'm guilty of not posting - I keep in touch with many of you through FaceBook, but that's no excuse for not posting here (shame on me too!) Here's a good one. Snooty the Manatee is almost 65 years old - and he's so darn cute, I think I need to take a trip to see him:

Been horribly busy, I want to go far far away.

Snooty is adorable, his companions too, but I hope they give him another companion when they take the other two to their new areas.

I'm around....just not much to post about these days...which is kind of good I guess, it means no sick cats!

But I did come very close to rescuing a rabbit this morning. Yes, a rabbit. I'm pretty sure it was a domestic that has escaped or been dumped. Chocolate color, much more "hefty" build than the average cottontail that we have in abundance around here. Apparently it has been around for a few days because my neighbor saw it in her yard and my hubby saw it on his way out this morning. It disappeared but I will keep an eye out for it.

I will not adopt a rabbit though. No way.

Here is a picture of the adorable bunny!

Can you check all your local Lost&Found's (newspapers, craigslist, etc). Tina? Chances are, he/she is someone's pet as you surmise.

Yep, it was easy. The search for rabbit resulted in zero hits on the lost and found sites. I have a hunch somebody dumped it or it is missing from nearby.

Sometimes I really really really loathe some humans.

Can YOU place a lost&found? Something to the effect the bunny has been sited in your location, coloring, size, etc.

I could, but truthfully am not sure I want to deal with it. I can't even be sure we will see it again. There are 100s of acres around us that it could easily go off into. But the face that it's been sited several times right around our homes tells me it's tame. I'll see if shows up again and then I might consider putting an ad out.

Very cute! I LOVE bunnies. I'm pretty sure I'd try to rescue it if it was near me.

Well, not sure if it is still hanging around but Tim hasn't seen it nor have since the day I posted this. Will continue to keep my eye out, but I'm not rescuing it unless I have a some place that will take it without a doubt.

Some people are trying to argue with me on FB that this is a wild bunny and I should leave it alone. "Stop trying to manipulate nature" I was told.

Ask them if they have the slightest clue what a cottontail looks like
