must get new bateries for the clicker (red dot)

Post by Tambrey »

my little red dot mouse has a dead battery....I clicked it a few times tonight and suddenly had 5 cats surrounding me and watching the floor...they KNOW that sound...LOL....and funny (mean) thing is....I can even click my tongue, not have the laser at all...and they stop what they are doing to see if I have a red mouse laser red dot thingy in my hand!

I don't have laser toys, but for now, my christmas tree is still up (don't ask), so they entertain themselves by watching the lights and all the birds and owls I have on the tree to see if they're going to start flying around the room. I'm thinking it would be just as well to just leave it there, so I won't have to redecorate it again next year. Plus it will make a conversation piece like around July. :-n

I did that one year too Traci, mainly because I was waiting for help to take it down. I quit putting up a tree because, not only did I have to decorate it by myself, I had to take it down and put it away alone too. No fun and not worth it.

Oh! You're so not alone!

I only put it up this year (first time in about 17 years) because I was being a christmas scrooge and thought it would invoke some cheer. It didn't. Christmas is NOT my favorite holiday. Last year I also tried to decorate and get festive and decorated the whole house, it didn't work then either. Bah humbug!

Tambrey, didn't mean to hijack your thread!

oh no worries....I have not put up a tree in a few years either...too much effort to drag everything down from the attic to the living room...two full flights of stairs...then have the cats demolish it all....then take what is left two whole flights back up...

And I know lots of people who leave their trees up and change the decorations throughout the season...LOL...mainly because as decided...it is too much effort to keep taking it down and putting it up!

I used to decorate the entire house...banister...archway between the dining and living rooms...top of entertainment center....end tables...dining table...even the bathroom....and the two bedrooms at the front of the house had little trees in the front window...one was in my son's room so he decorated that one at least!

Well, I certainly miss being younger, or even a child, when the adults did everything for the sole amusement of we little ones, LOL. Since I don't have kids, that's all lost on me now. But, I do get a kick out of watching the kitties check out decor, lights, and all the goodness of christmas (when I'm in the mood, that is). Mostly, they love the haul of kitty gifts mom goes overboard for every year. Oh, so I DO have kids. LOL.

So is this where I share my story of getting a nearly 6 foot live tree, with root ball, placing it in a very large tub at the nursery because there was NO WAY the two of us would lift that thing, and dragging all 2 tons (Ok..not really, but it was several hundred pounds I am sure) of it into the house to decorate a week before Christmas?

Nevertheless, next year we will be getting a much smaller tree!

It was! Because it was as cheap as a cut tree and we get to plant it in our yard now. :D

That's so cool, Tina, I hope your tree makes it's place on your property! Next year, you can wrap popcorn and peanuts on it for the wild critters :)

Edit to add: I don't recommend stringing popcorn or anything else, but somehow attaching treats to the tree so critters won't get tangled in any stringing material etc.
