Roo is next...sighs

Post by Tambrey »

Well...sitting here petting Roo and rubbed the side of his face...right side, about where the upper and lower jaw meets...it a lump about the size of a BB...it is hard...sort of movable...I do not want to mess with it much....it is not seeming to bother him at all when I did touch it...and it is not affecting his eating, drinking or bathing...but it needs to be looked at...biopsied...whatever necessary...so I will make an appointment at the hospital to drop him off on the way to work one morning and hopefully bring him home that night...

so as soon as we are set up I will let you know...

Yes...I wanted to wait to see what results were...Roo had a skin papilloma...nothing to worry about...no cancer, which was my main worry!! But glad to know it was not a cancerous growth...it was actually not on the jaw bone as I thought it was, but on the skin itself...but I felt it, as a hard lump, and was not going to mess with it and irritate it and cause it to possibly rupture or whatever...I did not even pull back his fur to look at home...I just felt it and wanted it taken care off!

Stormie is back to playing peek around the corner and bop you on the head, and has taken to playing with the ball in the circle track toy...she also has decided that she likes to cuddle with Fatty...and I think he likes it too...he will sneak and give her baths when he thinks I am not looking...LOL

All is well....all are healthy...and I am HAPPY!!!

Tambrey, which vet diagnosed this (Roo's papilloma), and exactly, how? Was it aspirated or was a punch biopsy done and sample sent for histopath?

The local one because I can make payments to them...he removed the entire lump, as it was not under the skin (on bone) as I thought, but was on the outside, and then sent it to a lab for the diagnosis

Ok, so I assume the path report stated "benign"? Also, did the path report state plan of action uneccessary, or, did it state to monitor?

One reason I ask is that if the papilloma is associated with it's virus, you really should test him for that. Has he been ill recently? Any other ill cats?

Not trying to overplay this, just want to make sure.
