I loved seeing the newscast. Like has already been said, Doc didn't look too impressed by the cameras. Sounds like the vets at the clinic really care, and that's a big plus.

Doc's "first" Christmas. He was pretty excited about his new toy. Lucy and Chunk just wanted to be fed, Doc wanted to play. <3

What the cats do on a sleety, freezing rainy, snowy, windy kind of day:

Curl up in a basket...

Curl up in a soft, cuddly bed...

Curl up on a fuzzy blanket on mommy's bed...

Me? I'm sipping a cup of hot tea and trying to motivate myself to be creative...

Yes, Traci...I do love first Christmases. And I love the gratitude of previously "homeless" cats when they are given things too - although Lucy seems to be the exception since she's the prima donna queen around here (but she deserves that title after she is picked on so much by the two boys). Reminds me of Willow when we first fostered her, and how excited she became over the toys we gave her. It was that moment that sealed my decision to adopt her permanently. I miss her...it's nice to see this same sort of gratefulness from Doc. Not to mention I love how he follows me, everywhere I go he follows me! It's almost like he is saying "You are the one..you saved me, you cared, you love me!"

I've also noticed, though, that he seems to be more interested on wanting to go outside. He runs to the door if I'm going out and waits for me to open it. I am having to shoo him away more often these days. I told him this morning he needs to look out there and be thankful he isn't out there in that cold, slushy mess!

There's a big ol' snowdrift right outside my door at the moment. I was trying to kick snow off my shoes before going more than a step inside the door. Izzy stuck her head between my feet like she was fixing to make a run for it, put one paw on a chunk of snow I had knocked off my shoe on the carpet, and thought much better of it. Now she's curled up under my duvet purring against my side. No, babygirl, you are not a big bad outdoor kitty. Sorry.

Tabby, my outside kitty, has been "stuck" in the kittyhouse for the last few days (super cold here), so when he has to go out to urinate, he makes it quick. On occasion, tho, he gets cabin fever, so goes out for a little bit and makes the most of it, fresh and cool air, taking in the sights and sounds, then back to the kittyhouse. He would be a lot happier if I just moved in with him

Maybe Doc just remembers the cool fresh air, but I doubt he misses the cold sticky snow on his puddies! Try to discourage him from getting close to the door, though.

slvr...Izzy is a character for sure! Chunk never shows any interest in going out. He'd be terrified. Lucy does on occasion but she was an outdoor kitty once, so she probably has those memories. Doc is the worse, but only in the last few weeks. He's got far too much energy for this small space.

Traci, Tabby sounds like such a sweetie! You mean you can't move in with him?

Heh, I might as well, I do spend a lot of time with him in there. Another stray, "Blackie", and he are trying to share the kittyhouse, but they don't get along, they are constantly growling at each other, and sometimes have nasty fights. As long as I'm in there with them, they are relatively calm and can relax, but if I'm not in there, it has to be pretty cold outside for both of them to be in there together. They are both stubborn, if one is napping, he is NOT going to move or leave, so the other has to make do or....

Good thing I have another heated kittyhouse in the garage, huh? (yes, they both use it, seperately of course). So, when they're ticked at each other, they have two options.

My electric bill is killing me  But whatever necessary for the little darlings

Your "foster" kitties are lucky Traci!!

In the mean time, we had somewhat of a truce this morning when the birds became very active in the measly dusting of snow on the ground. The three amigos, for a brief moment in time:

They actually sat there like this for about half an hour. Amazing the size difference between Chunk and Lucy. Doc just looks small because of perspective. He's in between Chunk and Lucy in size.
