Happy Endings....update 12/19/12

Post by Tambrey »

someone shared a link on my FB page earlier this week from Nashville-Neglects, of a beautiful black kitty...for over a MONTH she had been surviving in a liquor store parking lot, after being hit by a car, with a broken leg (and later found also a broken shoulder)...people ignored her for that long...in the nasty weather and all...until a good Samaritan heard about her andwent and got her, the night after a hail storm, and took her to the vet, and from there she ended up at that shelter.

She ended up having to have her leg and shoulder amputated...she recovered in a foster home and was ready for adoption earlier this week....I saw her lovely black face and got ahold of a friend of mine who moved to Nashville a few months ago...
Two days later, she her and her husband went to visit the cat, named Sweet Pea by the foster, and it was love at first sight all around...they were approved for adoption and brought Sweet Pea home yesterday afternoon!!

They let her wander their home and get used to their other 2 cats, while their girls were still in school, but when they are not home, and at night, she is going to stay in Cera's room, until she fully adjusts...

Heather sent me these two pictures tonight...gave me happy tears! Heather said that Ivy, the kitty's new name, had not moved from Cera's arms in over 2 hours! She said they are forming a deep bond really fast.
Cera is 9, and the Ivy is maybe a year old, they figure.

Sometimes I really hate humans.

I'm glad to hear she had a good samaritan looking out for her, and she now has a family to love and to love her!

I'm with you on that one Traci.

I am glad to see a happy ending to this story though. She deserves it.

I had to post this follow up....Ivy is doing wonderfully, but with my friend's other 2 cats, the pecking order has begun....she posted this on her facebook a while ago
So I've been giving Pandora (my crabby cat) a time out when she gets aggressive towards the other two. I'll put her in the bathroom and close the door for a little while, and it seems to calm her down and keeps the hissing and stalking from getting any worse. Just now she was going after our little three legged baby so I stood up from the couch to put her in the bathroom. Imagine my surprise when she led the way - walks right in there and sits down on the rug and looks at me. Methinks the time out is getting to be something she enjoys and maybe it's not working too well anymore... lol

Well, if it's working, don't change anything....however, you could still suggest to her using the squirt bottle as most of us do anyway. It's a little tough on all the cats during introductions, so she doesn't want to make Pandora feel like she's always in trouble so suddenly - always helps to get the cats playing with toys, sharing the same space etc during acclimation.

I'm so glad Ivy is doing so well, bless her darling little heart!

I don't care for laser toys, I simply use fun or interactive toys etc.
