Joe got adopted yesterday!

He went to a very good home where he will be a buddy for Woody. House seems a little bit emptier today

I completely forgot about Joe!!!!
I'm so glad to hear he's found a good home. I remember when you posted about him running around the house with the toys one night after he ate dinner.
Do your other dogs miss him at all??

They are older, and his occasional bursts of "puppy" energy would surprise them. I have to admit, he got my girls into play mode, though! I think they are resting today...

as we were considering keeping him because Winnie and Biscotti are 10 and 9, and if we adopted him, he would be there in the future. With over 70 Bassets in Rescue in our state, I realized there will always be another "joe." And our Vet bills lately have been rough. Sorrow...no...like I told him, "this is your last move...have a good life!" ....I will take him back if it doesn't work out for some reason, but I think it will. And I can think about doing this for another...in a little while!

Bittersweet news... Happiness over a successful homing, sadness over his going. ....

We got some bad news yesterday. ... Remember a few weeks ago I delivered a Basset mom and her 3 pups to Basset rescue. The mother just got sick and died. They are doing the postmortem now, but results so far are inconclusive. The pups are fine but miss thier Mama. Fortunately they are weaned now at nine weeks. .....

Bassets are close to my heart. I will keep the pups in my prayers. If you find out what happened to Momma, I am interested in knowing....
