No....no bathroom. I'm still dealing with Chunk, Lucy, and Doc working out their hierarchy and at least one or two daily incidents of mild aggression. I am not going to put them under any more stress. Besides, my mom has been in a cycle of canterkousness for the last week and I cannot exasperate that for my own sanity's sake.
He's as warm as he would be if I didn't take him in at all and protected and fed to boot. He has warm fuzzy blankets too. I don't think an "owner" is coming forward, to be honest. My friend in Wyoming was semi serious IF I can see how he does with other cats and cat friendly dogs and IF I don't find a home here. Truth is I have neither time nor finances to take that length of a trip right now. Or the energy. Right now I just want someone locally to say "AWWW...I'll take him!!"

I'm praying someone locally will take him. He's a heart warming for sure!

Now Chunk has a UTI.

But you caught it in time. Also, due to his recent history, this is to be expected and he may be prone to UTI's on occasion. I don't think I would necessarily change anything about the environment, since Chunk actually is adjusting to Doc. I don't think grey kitty was in the house long enough to stress Chunk into a UTI.

Yes, my vet said he would probably be prone to urinary issues. I'm not changing anything about the environment - Doc is here and here to stay, although I do think he is stressing Chunk a bit with his attempts to place himself high on the totem pole - but it is one more reason why the other stray kitty can NOT be in he house and has to stay in the trailer, and one more reason why I HAVE to find somewhere for him to go ASAP. I've noticed Chunk meowing at the litter box for the last few days and that is why I mentioned it to my vet when I took him in today for a lab recheck on his calcium. He also continues to slim down though! And I didn't have to pay my bill today because the computer was down...I'll take what I can get!
It is just one more thing I don't need right now...and all avenues on the stray continue to leave me with little hope.

Just a slight vent...I can't believe people who would tell me to just "turn him back out" because maybe he is just destined to be a stray. GAH!!!!
***fingers crossed*** Might have a few leads on getting Mr. Precious into a home...I don't want to get my hopes up but please pray!!

My own vet, well the owner of the practice, told me that himself about one of my two litter mate brothers. One was friendly enough when I captured him, all I had to do was pick him up and put him in the carrier. It took me 8 hours to catch the other and this was inside my 8' x 8' work room. He scaled the walls, high shelves and hid behind the furnace equipment there at the time. At the vet's he would dart out of the cage when they went to feed and change litter. The vet told me he was too feral and since we had him neutered and vaccinated, just to put him back outside and the brother would have no problem being adopted out. One of the other kittens from the same litter had been adopted out previously without a problem after I brought it in.
Needless to say, I didn't like that thinking so the two came home with me, 7 cats turned to 9 and while 7 years later it's still a sneak attack or cornered job to pick him up to cut his nails, he's no longer climbing walls and hiding.
So yeah, people who say that are morons.

You know, I know I can't save them all, nor can I keep them all inside...but in some cases I just can't put them back outside.
On a positive note, Chunk's calcium levels are coming down. They are still slightly above normal but lower than they were the last time so the diet is working!

I'm so glad to hear Chunk's bloodwork is improving, hopefully it will resolve, and stay that way.
I agree, it is extremely difficult to capture, vet, try to rehome, etc, and then hear comments by others to just let them outdoors again. It's hard enough with feral management.
Praying hard, Tina, for a great loving home to be found for little grey guy, he is such a beauty!

I'm not going to be able to hang on to the stray boy much longer. Doc's chemo cost was more than I had planned and after reassessing my finances I have to take every potential stress off of me right now. I have not heard back from either of the potential adoptees so far, so I'm guessing they may not be truly interested. He may end up destined for a shelter if nobody steps up to take him.
