Didn't expect to do a Vet visit today...

I went out for an hour or so, came back and found Buffy with a swollen face! Gave her a benedryl and called the Vet. I think I could have given her more, but not being sure as to how much more, I took her in. I would have done that anyway...

It seems to be a bug bite...bee maybe? Who knows...

I think this is a first, when something happens and it is actually during office hours!

Bee or wasp/hornet most likely, maybe spider. Although a pet can have a severe allergic reaction to other bugs, it would be rare.

We still have wasps here, not enough consistent cold days to kill them off....maybe the same for you too?

Glad you took her in, things that swell should always be seen immediately!

That is what the Vet said, Traci, not enough cold to kill them off yet. Haven't had this happen with her before.

She is looking better now...whew!

Well, I would have thought we had a couple of super cold days, but not cold enough or long enough for those nasty buggers.

I'm glad to hear Buffy is doing better, poor baby. Please keep a good eye on her tonite, make sure the swelling continues to recede.

I will...just gave her some more benedryl, per Vet's orders. Still swollen, but better...
