Traci, earlier in the day when he was out I did lay down beside him when he curled up on the bed and just spent time with him when he slept.

He charged out of the bathroom door last night before I went to bed so from now on I guess I might have to make sure Chunk and Lucy are out of the bedroom and close the bedroom door before I open the bathroom door. I mean he charged out fast! He tried it this morning but I was to quick for him. He's feeling better, that's for sure.

Yep, that's his way of telling you he wants to explore :)

Oh yea, he wants to explore and then some! I had to go out this morning and he was ready to come out when I got home! I will be so glad when we can get that *&^%$^ evil-collar off. He's still doing very well this morning and early afternoon. Still not eating a great deal at a time but that's fine with me as long as he's eating regularly. He's still pooping and peeing. Can't tell if he's drinking much but he's getting hydrated when I flush his tube and give him meds, plus the water in his food. I've been giving him some kibble to nibble on too and he's pretty much cleaning it out, even with his collar on.

I am feeling a little guilty that I can't let him out more than I am though. *sigh*

Do you have an appt set up this week yet?

Just a bit of advice on the dry food - maybe near the end of the week, start offering the same amounts of both canned and dry. I'm assuming you're still feeding canned ID so that may be why he's gravitating to the dry EN, if you can, see if you can pick up some cans of the EN, maybe at the appt?

No appointment yet but I was planning on calling and making one this afternoon...if my vet's office is open. A lot of things are shutting down around here now.

Edited to add that I just made an appointment. I'm taking him in Thursday morning.

Stay safe, Tina, and everyone in the path - I hope you're able to get to the appt on Thursday.

I hope so too! The one thing that could be an issue is a power outage. Not sure what kind of backup my vet's office has. We have a generator, so if our power goes out we will stay warm and toasty.

If they're a good sized clinic, they will probably have a generator. Hopefully!

Again, stay safe, Sandy is looking like a rough one.

They are a fairly decent size. 3 vets...quite a good size building. I've helped pay a bit on the mortgage I'm sure.
