after surgery to have some lumps removed. One of them was really an angry looking thing, and it is being sent off.. For a 15 yr old dog, she did very well with the surgery...had a bit of apnea, got through that, and came out of anasthesia very quickly. She did so well, so they decided not to keep her overnight.
The angry lump came up rather quickly, and doc feels it could be malignant. I chose to send it out, rather than being in the dark about it.
I guess that just knowing might make the decisions easier, if it comes to that. Sigh...oh, it's been a long day.
Java is home now and fine
Re: Java is home now and fine
Where were the lumps located, and how many?
I'm sending best wishes and thoughts, that these are benign and not worrisome, hang in there Marty, and give Java lots of hugs for us.

There were 5 of them on her head and shoulders...more growths than lumps. She looks like she has been through WW3...
The worst one was just under her ear and not really noticable unless you knew it was there. It looked like it was bleeding, but it wasn't...
Just a little question...he gave her Tramadol for pain, but enough for 10 days. Is she really going to need it that long?

Hopefully they are only benign or not worrisome (like lipomas etc).
When you remove a fair number of lumps, it is good to give pain control, the Tramadol is fine to use for a short-term course (and as long as the dose is lowest possible). If Java is on any other meds or even supplements, be sure to tell your vet.
