Re: Another stray showed up
Slvr...all those things crossed my mind as well. And it was Emmy I was thinking of when I said I'd be glad to take him for a second test. I can't say how he will be with other cats right now. He has seen my two through the screen door and nothing happened...no growls, no hisses, no raised hackles. He seems like a real person cat. The vet estimated him at just under 2 years, but he seems to have a very old soul to me. I don't detect any kittenishness in him at all. I know exactly how Izzy feels, because Willow was the same way. Chunk wanted to play and she wanted no part of it. Lucy handles Chunk much better! Once he is feeling up to par and I know the fleas are gone I may see what he does around my cats, or at least Lucy (once she is feeling better too!), because Chunk will just run away at the sight of him I am sure. Please take your time and lots of thought in making your decision because I want you to make the right one for you and for Izzy. He has a few weeks of healing, fattening up, and fur growing to do anyway.

I named him in my mind. I tried not to, but I looked into those eyes and I was done.
I'm already really sure. As long as he's healthy... and I'm not putting Izzy in danger... I want him.

Re: Another stray showed up
That's funny slvr, because usually we try to think of a name even when we know we aren't keeping the cat. But we just haven't been able to come up with one for this guy. I've thought of several, but they just never fit.
He's doing well this morning, and you might be interested to know that he has been awesome at letting me put his e-collar on. Last night and this morning both he just sat there and let me do it without trying to squirm away or anything. Of course after it is on he gives me this look that says "why?!!" and I feel bad But it is best for him right now. His neuter site and his foot are both looking good and his fur is starting to come back in those two patches on his back. Yesterday I was standing there doing something with my phone and not giving him attention and he reached out with his paw and tapped my leg as if to say "hey, what about me?! Pet me here already!" What a cat.

Tina, you wouldn't happen to be a Doctor Who fan, would you?
Because, to me, he looks like he's wearing the 10th Doctor's clothes (tan tweed coat, white collared shirt). And in my mind, his name is Doc.
I'm completely in love, I hope you know.

I have lots of friends who are Dr. Who fans, but I have never been a regular viewer of the show in any of it's incarnations...but I can see it and I like it (and I like David Tennant too)!!
Yes, I can tell you are.
I will continue to keep you updated on how he's coming along. BTW...I did whisper to him about Izzy, and told him that IF he goes there he must be nice to Izzy and not play rough at all.

Re: Another stray showed up
Izzy's mad at me anyway because I've been spending so much time at the boyfriend's place because he lives near where I work and where I'm going to be moving. She just ignores me when I come home. Brat. And then she'll sit in my mom's lap and just stare at me like, "See? SHE'S here for my every whim. Where are you? Deadbeat."
A little brother would keep her too busy to be mad at me.

Ha ha...poor Izzy feeling ignore?
I told my hubby about your name and he said "well then I guess he needs a Tardis!" I may just have to find one and take his picture with it...my friends would get a HUGE kick out of that!

There is no way now that this cat is not coming to me.
Izzy learned to tolerate Emmy. She'll learn to tolerate Doc.
HEAL UP, LITTLE BUDDY. YOU'VE GOT A JOURNEY TO MAKE!

HOLY SPACEMAN
I just did so much flailing at work. I'm pretty sure people think I'm having a seizure or something over here.
Also forwarding that to my supervisor because that is amazing. She's a huge Who fan. TARDIS on her desk and all.
