Corky was found dragging himself down a sidewalk, and was scheduled to be euthanized...but these kind people saved him..then had the task of finding a vet who felt capable of attempting surgery on his back legs, which were backwards and reversed and corkscrewed around each other...

According to the story, Corky is doing very well...and he has a Facebook page...gonna go check that out now!
Heartwarming Story About Being Given a Chance
Re: Heartwarming Story About Being Given a Chance
Would be interesting to find out if Corky had an actual owner, he looks in otherwise relatively good shape (although I'm sure if owned, due to the media, they would come forward).
While the condition is rare, I'm sure there are countless ortho surgeons who would have loved to help Corky (there was a feature of one on "Must Love Cats"/Animal Planet once, but I can't remember his name, I'm sure he's well known)
I'm glad to hear he's being well taken care of, hopefully, they will test for toxo, etc, and keep up with his medical care - most of all, hope he's adopted to someone with exceptional care skills. What a cute little trooper!

Love that, Tambrey... Saw a video of him on his FB page.
Re: Heartwarming Story About Being Given a Chance
I am hoping that since it is a cat rescue that is overseeing his care and paying his bills, that they would take care of any and all other medical needs as well...
I just keep thinking of him dragging himself along a sidewalk...the scrapes and sores he must have had...or terrible callous build-up...either way would be painful to say the least!!
I will probably follow his FB page and keep up on how he is doing...just like I have other countless critters!!

Re: Heartwarming Story About Being Given a Chance
I have been following COrky on FB...they did contact a number of vets before they found one confident enough to attempt the surgery...and Corky came through very well...however, the left leg did not take, and ended up having to be amputated. at which point, Corky had a turning point and is doing wonderfully...
He is with a family and has a cat brother that likes him just fine...and he is playing...
