It's been a year :(

Post by Tina B and crew »

I cannot believe I have been without my Willow for an entire year. I still ache to have her snuggle on my lap. I still miss her following me to bed. I still miss her sweet kitty kisses. I miss her fuzzy, furry belly and how she use to roll over to let me rub it. I just miss her.

This song came on my iPod last night...how appropriate...Slipped Away by Avril Lavigne

I miss you, miss you so bad
I don't forget you, oh it's so sad
I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same
Oh
Na na na na na na na

I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't

Oh
I hope you can hear me cause I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same
Oh

I had my wake up
Won't you wake up
I keep asking why
And I can't take it
It wasn't fake
It happened, you passed by

Now you are gone, now you are gone
There you go, there you go
Somewhere I can't bring you back
Now you are gone, now you are gone
There you go, there you go,
Somewhere you're not coming back

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same no..
The day you slipped away
Was the day that I found it won't be the same oh...

Na na, na na na, na na
I miss you

I should really learn to have a play list without certain songs on my iPod. This one randomly came on today and I cried like a baby. I remember listening to it not long after Willow left...

Fly by Celine Dion

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again

Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget

Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

You can hear the song here...but I warn you...

I can't believe it has been a year. I am so very sorry, Tina, anniversaries are hard, but then so is thinking and wishing they were here every day. In memory of sweet Willow, ((((((((HUGS))))))))

I know Traci...unfortunately it feels like it was yesterday and I still find myself saying it wasn't fair, she should still be here. I told Tim this morning that I couldn't remember Willow's meow, while I have a vivid memory of Frodo and Gizmo's meow, and I think it is because Willow didn't meow a lot. But she did purr, boy did she purr and I remember her purr so very vividly. I can still feel her snuggle too. She would get on my lap and she would adjust herself for a while as if she was trying to squish in as close to me as possible. I miss that so much it still physically aches. I didn't realize the one year mark would hit me so hard :(

I remember all the special nuances from my angel babies too, I don't think I could ever forget.

I forgot to tell you that I am pretty sure Willow showed up last night. Lucy was on the couch and all the sudden looked back toward the bedroom where Willow always slept...she was very intent and then hopped down and slowly crept back there. Her tail was puffed up and she was staring at the bed. She just stared for several minutes and then went on....my first sense was Willow's presence!

I believe that. My Honey has visited me. I hope that visit is a comfort to you.

It is some comfort mompaws...but I still ache for that physical presence. I think it really is the manner in which I lost her that makes it so hard to come to terms, even this far out. But, today I was looking for quote and ran across this one. It really puts it in perspective for me:

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." - Kahlil Gibran (he is a Lebanese American poet who's words I often find very appropriate for what I'm feeling)
