Pics of the Birthday Boy (I hope)

Post by k9Karen »

These are on picturetrail.com, so don't know if they're going to work - but what the heck, here goes:

One of my favorite photos. This is about 4 1/2 years old, but it shows Mickey when he was pretty - without the awful skin problem he now has on his muzzle. You can see from the look in baby Allie's eyes that he's truly loved.

The rest were taken within the past two weeks, showing him doing what he does most, which is nothing of note!

What can I say - I love the critter! Happy belated 16th Birthday Mick-Mouse! (That's our nickname for him - he was such a chicken in his younger days - a mouse, plus, of course, he shares a name with a famous rodent - we've endearingly called him Mick-Mouse for most of his life. Unfortunately, he can't hear us call him that anymore.)

It may not have been a good birthday from the being sick perspective, but he sure got a lot of attention. He spent a good amount of time in my lap or with me on the floor next to him trying to comfort him (and worried sick myself). My husband even took time out to get on the floor and snuggle. He loves the dogs, but is not one to get on the floor with them just to pet them like I do. He usually waits for them to come to him.

Mickey seems stronger still. He was "chasing" the other two around the kitchen late last night and had enough strength to harass me into getting up at 6:30 this morning. (I put the "chasing" in quotes because all he does is lunge at them and bark, making the other dogs run!). It's good to see him feeling a bit frisky again. :)

Thanks so much! He is a pretty dog. Angel is actually my prettiest - she is probably one of the prettiest shelties I've ever seen. Everyone who sees her or her picture seems to think the same. I don't think I've seen too many shelties that can't be called pretty - they are a very good looking breed!

Nope, not her father. None of my dogs are related (at least, not to my knowledge).

In the second picture, he had just spotted Angel and Allie playing across the yard and was heading over to join the fun. (Which means he barks at them to "encourage" them. And that usually means I have to get them back inside. We have a running feud with a neighbor about his barking dog, so I don't let mine bark for more than a couple of minutes.)

And BTW - thanks for mentioning Picture Trails. Seems to work a lot better than seemesmile!

Karen- glad you like Picture Trails- I really like it, too. I think either jdf or Skeptic recommended it. I think after a while (you get quite a long time for free) you have to join, but to my 20 bucks a yr. is worth it! By seeing your shelties, I do think what they told me is true- that Honey is part sheltie.
