Yes she is and she is so sweet! Everything she has been through even though I don't know all the details and she trusts me like I am her sister! Thanks for the extra help and the shoulder-
Re: Traci, Meet the Newcomer
She seems tiny, poor baby, maybe just underweight. She's just so precioius!

Re: Traci, Meet the Newcomer
Sorry guys, hubby is quite sick and I had to run him in to the doctor. This latest virus has him really at bad odds. I am three days sleep deprived between Shell and Mike- so if I don't make sense, forgive me.
This is what she faces (Traci knows all of this) but this is just for everyone else. She has rodent ulcers the size of Manhatten- seriously- huge rodent ulcers like i have never seen. one of them is so large it started underneath her tongue and has swollen so much that it has pushed her tongue out the side of her mouth, making eating a bit difficult and drinking really hard. Another one has started in the back of her mouth and is obstruction a majority of her throat opening, she hard swallows a lot. She has two teeth left they are so messed up you can almost see through them, they are her canines. She will have to have these removed eventually. She has stomatitis, feline herpesvirus, URI, UTI, worms but isn't strong enough to worm yet. She has fragile skin syndrome (Trace you were right what a surprise) because of this condition she has wounds all over her body caused by her either scratching herself, rubbing up against something- to give you an idea, her skin looks like the skin of an onion after you take the peel off- that thin inner skin? that is the equivalent of what her skin looks like. I am supposed to not touch her if at all possible- but she craves attention and when I open the cage door, she walks out of her carrier and head-bumps my arm.
She still has a fever but it is coming down 102.8 at last taking- she is eating like a concentration camp victim. I did get a case of Hills Z/D tonight Traci and she loves it. I am also giving her Vitamin C- B Complex, L-Lysine and one other the feline specialist recommended that I can't remember at the moment, but it is for her skin.
She is nowhere near out of the woods yet although she is in a place where people actually care about her, but it is going to be a long battle and I am in for the duration until she tells me otherwise.
Traci I am keeping her cage and carrier in as pristine condition as I can. I have elevated the carrier a bit to make it higher than the litter pan which is off the side of the carrier not IN the carrier. I use a plastic mat when I feed because she still has that nasty drippy drooly crud coming out of her mouth and I sit by here with small guaze pads and try to catch the drool before it ends up in the food again. I found a trick to stop her rabbit kicking me when I clean her bum. I clean it when she eats- because she keeps her tail so high and she is so into her food, she barely notices my gentle touch. After I put the Drinkwell in the cage she is now drinking! YAY!
I also lined the sides of her cage with some doormats to help keep her warm since you told me she shouldn't be on a heating pad. She only wants to be in the carrier right now, so I don't want to burn her skin even with the cat bed over it, I wasn't taking chances. The baseboard heater is on in the bedroom and it warm and cozy in there. That's about it, she could use prayer and I could use a few thousand dollars to cover everything that I think may be coming down in the future! I did buy a lottery ticket tonight!
I thought she was a dilute calico, I apologize, I do see she is a dilute tortie which just makes her that more special in my book.

Re: Traci, Meet the Newcomer
Oh goodness, poor sick babygirl! I'm so glad she's in good, caring hands. Hopefully now that she's eating, she'll be stronger to fight off these infections. Thank goodness for the love she's receiving now!
Re: Traci, Meet the Newcomer
MA, thanks for the new updates and for posting so the rest have an idea of what we've been talking about, LOL.
I knew Shell would take to the Z/D, thanks so much for picking it up!!
I wanted to mention also, if you think she is not tolerating pain, please don't be afraid to ask the vet for pain meds, the skin wounds are most likely painful.
I am so relieved to hear she's using the fountain, what a cool idea for her!
She probably is in awe with so much love, care and attention, thank you so much for all that you're doing for her. Please keep us updated.
I'm posting a prayer request in the PrayerBook forum....
Shell, hang in there sweetie, we're pulling for you!
