Do you mean vinblastine or vincristine?
Did he consult an oncologist for you to determine best course of treatment?

Re: Strange growth in ear
There was a consult with an oncologist at OSU- we talked about radiation, chemo, prednisone, lomustine, vinblastine, side effects the whole scenario. So far she is a bit anxious and seems to need reassurance a lot and she eats like she has a hole in her stomach (which I hope she doesn't). She cries a lot when she is on my lap which concerns me. I wish I knew what she was talking about. It sounds like a nervous meow not a regular meow, if that makes sense.
Re: Strange growth in ear
Were you quoted costs for the vinblastine?
The pred could be causing her to have a more than usual increased appetite. I'm assuming when you first got her, that she was dewormed?
The crying might be due to pain or irritation, I'm sure she feels like scratching her ears (or even grooming), and perhaps that's why the "nervous" cry. Please ask the vet about an H2 blocker (or some type of safe antihistamine) to help those cells stop releasing histamine (if vet determines that is the cause). It might help her comfort level as well.

Thanks Traci, I will call tomorrow and make an appointment with him.
Re: Strange growth in ear
Hit enter too soon, I meant to say and H1 blocker like benadryl for helping reduce histamine release in those cells, and an H2 blocker like Zantac that also helps reduce histamine release as well as reduces acid in the stomach. Not sure if you can use both, but your vet should know. If both, be very very careful in discussion with the vet, the benadryl could cause hyperactivity if given in wrong or too high doseage. Not sure about the Zantac's effects when also using benadryl, please ask your vet.
