Missing my Angel

Post by k9Karen »

This Christmas Eve it will be 3 years since Angel drowned in our pool. I miss her terribly all the time, but this time of year just makes it harder. Everything about Christmas is a constant reminder of what happened. I hope she is happy and running without pain in a field of flowers with lots of squirrels and birds to chase and that she has forgiven me for not realizing she was still outside so that could happen to her. She was a very special sheltie.

Hugs, Karen...Angel has that field of flowers, squirrels and birds...and is loving it ! Winnie and Biscotti just might be keeping her company!

Thank you Marty - I still feel so guilty about what happened to her. I should have know she was out on the porch. If only I hadn't turned off the light ... all "what ifs" and "if onlys". She would dance when I came home, in spite of her hip dysplasia, and I miss her dances so much. My coworkers gave me a candle to help comfort me after she died. I light it every Christmas Eve and put it by the pool to honor her memory. I will do that again this year.

Karen, I know there are few words to help comfort you, but please know I'm thinking of Angel and you, and I believe Angel would want you to put aside any feelings of guilt and remember her as she was - full of spirit, happy and graceful. I understand feeling guilt, but I don't think Angel feels the same. No forgiveness necessary. Even if it was, Angel and all of our loved ones would forgive in a heartbeat, for they are/were that divine

Am so sorry Karen..I know how much that must hurt. God Bless Angel. I bet her and Honey are playing and romping around..I can see it. But that doesn't mean we don't miss our loved furOnes. The candle lighting is a beautiful idea.

Thanks for the pep talk everyone. I needed it badly. Still miss my furbaby, but it's really comforting to know you understand. Squirrels and birds really annoyed her, so I hope she's found some to play with and she, Winnie, Biscotti, and Honey are having a blast chasing them and each other.
