Ok here goes,I h ave 1 female cat that i hand raised from 2 days old she is a princess.I have a male cat that is kinda mean to her they have been together for about 4 years now both fixed. I had saved a feamle cat and broght it home and then found out she was preg. and very mean at the male cat not so much at the famale. and I have 1 dog sorry but they all get along with dog except the new cat who I have had for 3 months
now she has 6 new kitten that are 7 weeks old the are so fun.
I know she is just pretecting them as a mother should but she seems real mean. now my male cat all of a sudden is so afreid of her and she ( the new one) just picks on him and he runs from her like a chicken but the female cat (the old one) doesnt run from her and stands her ground
the male cat is now peeing all over the house and in the tub
the new kittens seem fine with everything the dog the 2 cats and there mom is a *beep*.
I'm going to get her fixed will this help my wife is so sad because I favor
my older cats more and shy away from the new moma cat it is hard for me to like her when she is mean to my other animals...
I hope you got all of this I try and spend time with her and talk to her and let the other cats no I still love them just as much as I did before she and her kids came along
we are going to keep 1 cat and take the rest to a pet store where the will be adopted not gaveaway but to a house where the will live in doors only
like my cats do...... please if any advise for the new moma cat would help make her and me feel the love for her and maybe like her new home and family thank you

Re: help please
Jim-
Mom cat is not being mean, she is instinctively protecting what she feels is threatened. None of your other cats should even be around her right now or the kittens. Mom should be in a room with the kittens all to themselves so they can adjust to each other before letting any of the other cats near her.
Your male cat may have stressed himself out so greatly that he needs a VET visit pronto! When cats are stressed out, they can typically get a urinary tract infection and you need to rule this out first before anything else. Usually when a cat is peeing on a smooth surface like a bathtub or in a sink, it comes down to a health issue and not a behavioral problem. I implore you to take him to the vet quickly!
About the pet store idea, I won't even go there. Nope, won't touch that part of your post with a ten-foot pole- sorry.

Re: help please
Mama cat's are very possesive of their kittens. I hope that you don't have the kittens around the dog and two cat's, if you do it's no surprise that Mama cat is not happy. Pet stores are awfull places in my experience the best way to get rid of kittens is by putting an add in the paper selling them for about $15 not alot of money but enough to get people to think about rather they realy want one. Then you get to meet the people make sure that they are decent people and do follow up's with them to make sure that the kitten is adjusting well.

Mom cat is doing her job. She should NOT have the stress of ANY other animals around her at this time.
Your male cat will require a vet's assessment now, as he may have stressed himself into illness.
And if the poeple at the PETCO are a rescue organizatoin, then go for it, if not then FIND a rescue group in your area to help you place the kittens. it is the only decent thing to do.
