Re: I'm still missing Willow so very much....but....
I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow. We went out to dinner tonight and left her separated from Chunk. When we got home I opened the door and she was ready to explore! She checked out every nook and cranny, did a few nose to nose sniffs with Chunk, checked more nooks and crannies, and finally when she was walking by Chunk to head back to the bedroom he rolled over, belly up to say "let's play!" I think she was just a bit too interested in checking things out to play right now. But Chunk tried
She's settled down in the bedroom with me right now. This is the first time I've slept in here in over 3 weeks. I cried as I got the bed ready, missing my Willow jumping up and getting ready to settle in for the night. So far this little girl hasn't decided to sleep at my feet or on the bed. She's curled up in her little bed I bought for her. Not sure how I'll do tonight, but there is only one way to find out. I am comforted by her presence, but aching for Willow to come give me a pressie and settle at my feet.

I know it's hard, Tina, but try not to compare them TOO much. I'm completely certain that, while you will find comfort in their similarities, you will also find joy in her unique traits very soon. I'm so glad she's home with you and that she and Chunk had their meeting go well!

Re: I'm still missing Willow so very much....but....
It wasn't her not doing it that was making me sad, it was the fact that Willow wasn't there, that I was sleeping back in the bed where Willow was ALWAYS there, and where Willow passed. I did change blankets and all, and tha t helped some, but after nearly 8 years of having that routine of telling Willow on a cold night that I had turned the heated blanket on, and having her jump up and settle in looking so content, it's hard to not have it anymore.
But, with that said, she finally jumped up and settled at my feet for most of the night, purring and making biscuits. She was quite other than that. And my CPAP mask didn't seem to bother her! This morning she's been exploring again. Chunk's kind of just watching her. She gave him a pressie once.
Other than that she has not given Chunk much mind but is more interested in watching all the birds and leaves fluttering on the ground. Just now she was in the litter box and she came out and came toward Chunk he had his tail all puffed up, but he didn't make any moves toward her.
Oh...I had been looking for one of Willow's favorite toys, Mr. Wormie, since she passed and hadn't been able to find it. Well yesterday it simply appeared on the floor at the edge of the bed. Now it could be that Chunk had found it and dropped it there, but I just thought it was uncanny that it appeared! Anyway, she found it last night and was playing with it. Since it's a newer one I'll leave it out for them to play with, but when I find Willow's first Mr. Wormie toy it will go in my memory box for Willow.
Names....right now we are strongly leaning toward Lucy. My other choices were Kaiya and Mims, both more unusual, I know, but Lucy just seems to fit and rolls off my tongue more easily when I say it to her. Lucy comes from the Chronicles of Narnia, so that would make her Queen Lucy BTW...Kaiya was Willow's wife in the movie "Willow" and Mims was his daughter. That was where Willow's name came from. In the last 20 years we've had a Frodo, Gizmo, Bilbo, Wicket, Willow, and Chunk. Can anyone see a pattern?

I think you'll find in the coming days, that Lucy (love the name) will continue to bring you comfort in your healing process. Both her and Chunk's future antics as well. And speaking of, we haven't seen Chunk for awhile either, please post pics of both!

Traci, Chunk is notorious for being difficult to photograph...he just won't cooperate! But I did get a few of him this morning and yesterday I got some good one's of her...I'll get the uploaded and posted as soon as I can.

I swore up and down after my Baxter passed that I would never be able to own another cat.. I was lost without him, but I ended up picking up a kitten from the humane society and it is just what the doctor ordered! It really filled the void in my heart that was missing and has made things a lot easier on everyone in the house!
