I was so glad to hear the great news, Peg. I'm pleased to hear Shannon's vet has found her to be in good shape, but I'm not surprised. I know what a wonderful Mommy you are!
Hooray, Shannon! Many (((((((hugs))))))) to both of you.
Sue (and Kids!)
My kitties Shadow and Tank enable me to enjoy my existence and brighten my world. And may my angels, Nikki, Sparky, Buster, Frosty, Snowball, Leo, Foghorn, and Humane Society kitties be playing in the sunshine at the Rainbow Bridge.
Thanks, Sue. You know I will do anything for Shannon and as long as she is not giving up, neither am I. I got her to lay on the heating pad tonight. We just cuddled and she was purring her heart out. She's amazing. She's my baby!
Adequan might be helpful, but your vet would want and need to fully evaluate Shannon's renal function first. It's just an option to consider, ok?
Thanks for updating us, I was so worried for Shannon, I'm so happy to hear she is responding so well to the meds!
Hi, Traci,
Thanks for the links. I have used Cosequin and Shannon has Adequan shots periodically after her kidney evaluations. Her kidneys are holding. I have also used Dasuquin which is a little stronger than Cosequin. The vet said Shannon has been dealing with arthritis since she was about 4 yrs old judging from the x-rays of her leg which was broken at age 2. Age is the defining factor now and I check everything I hear of with regard to easing pain. I have an omega 3 formula from the vet. At 20, surgery is out of the question. She definitely has up days and down days. The changes in the weather and temperatures have us both hobbling around. Other than the arthritis, all her other problems are in check. Thanks for all your help. I'll keep all of you posted.
