Sneezing fits

Post by slvrwhispr »

Emmy's been having sneezing fits a few times a day for the last two or three days. She'll sneeze a half dozen times in rapid succession. Aside from that, she has no other symptoms. Eating fine, using litterbox fine, plays just as much as usual, sleeps no more than normal, and is interactive with everybody. That said, these sneezing fits are new for her. Am I over-protective, or is this a "go see the vet" issue? I don't want to go in and spend the money just for the vet to tell me that I'm overreacting... But if she's sick, I want her to get better!!

If she's doing this more than a couple times each day, I'd get her seen. She could have a foreign body embedded somewhere in her nasal cavities, or there could be excessive dust, dust mites in her environment, etc. When sneezing gets excessive, eventually, blood vessels burst, and potential for infection occurs. Tell the vet where in the home Emmy is when the sneezing fits occur and rule out possible allergens or excessive dust, feathers, cotton, etc. It could also be a sinus infection.

Best to play it safe and nip it in the bud, make the appointment.

Roo still sneezes....I have counted up to 27 at one time...my husband said we should have named him Everthesneezer....

When he was a kitten, he has 2 sets of double fangs and a set of triple fangs...eventually the doubles fell away to just one, but the triple stayed as a double, so had to be pulled...

He was still having sinus/sneezing issues, so back in again and the top fangs had LONG roots into his sinus cavities so the vet ended up pulling them as well....

He still sneezes and has some troubles...but not as much as he did then

Roo also has a very short nose...short and wide and flat... because of the bit of bobcat that is in him...
