She knows she has lots of humans to love on her, lots of warm beds to sleep in, and lots of food to eat right here inside! Who knows what's on the other side of these walls? Haha.

Oh lordy, do I love my girls.

Izzy has a new trick. I was getting ready for bed when she leaped onto my bed like she was shot out of a cannon, all purrs and nuzzles and love-nips. I put my hands on my hips and ask what got into her, cause she's usually content to enjoy the humans from afar. And she put both paws on my chest and put her nose on my mouth for kisses.

Got her to do it twice, too. I'm trying to post this from my BlackBerry, but it's taking a while because someone keeps nipping my wrists to get more petting! Guess I should get to it, huh?

It sounds like she is settling in better than you imagined she would, but just to be safe, make sure the new behavior is not actually stress. Is she otherwise happy and content in her daily routine?

Hopefully, she's just happy and content!

I can tell whether she's stressed or not based on her meows. If I call for her and she chirps back at me, she's not stressed -- and she's been chirping up a storm. If she doesn't respond and I go up to her and she meows loud and low, that's a stressed Izzy. This is just a happy cat who suddenly remembered she has humans who love her and decided it was time for affection. She goes in spurts. For a couple of weeks, she's Mountain Lion, Queen of the Basement. And then for a couple of weeks, she'll be mama's girl, all over me all the time. Back and forth. She's been like this her whole life.

She scared the crap out of me earlier! I was in the bedroom changing out of my swimsuit with the door closed. Walked out of the room into our basement living room. The cat's chair (the armchair they both love to sleep on) is against the wall that is shared with the bedroom. She was sitting there, almost at eye level. I walk out the door, and she pops her head out, nose to nose with me. "MEOW? Chirp-chirp MEOW?"

"Play? Pet me? Play?" Almost gave me a heart attack. But she got petted anyway.

Love the chirping! Angel got me the other day. Was intent watching the computer screen and didn't know she was on the desk next to me...and she reached over with her paw and tapped me on the shoulder..boy did I jump. And to think I taught her that trick to get a treat!
