Well... the easy answer is, put it somewhere that he can't get it. If he can't get it, he can't chew through it.

But an even better idea is to firmly tell him NO when you catch him doing it, then divert his attention to a toy or other appropriate activity. He's just desiring stimulation, so it's up to you to find a way to entertain him.

You've "gone through two" cords now and you haven't put the Ipod and cord out of reach to your cat?

If you're talking about a USB or port cord, there may be a slight electrical current if connected to a live pc and if it's connected by an AC adapter either to a wall outlet or surge protector, then it is a LIVE ELECTRICAL CURRENT! By not keeping cords away from your cat, you're essentially encouraging him to potentially chew ANY, DANGEROUS electrical cords, which can cause severe or life-threatening injuries to the cat. Keep ALL cords, wires, etc away from and out of reach to your cats, just as you would string, thread, etc.

There are cord-protectors (try wire-loom or cable wraps, for example) for nearly any type of cord available at hardware stores, home improvement stores, and online. Invest in one or more to protect all the cords and your cat!
