Yeah... the lessons we learn, eh? lol
The plan was to talk to her calmly and for her to feel comforted and safe. The plan... was a bust.
Oh well. She's sleeping on my pillow contently... so I get to lint roll that before I go to bed. If you go in the bedroom (I'm leaving the door open because Tyler won't walk on the hardwood floors... will not, can not, has not in years, so there's no chance of him going after the cats) and Tyler's not around, Emmy is herself. All affection and nuzzles. But as soon as she hears the dog coming, she bolts under the bed, OR -- my new favorite -- behind the headboard, on the window sill, just her eyes peeking over.
We'll all be okay, just gonna take time. And, for me, Neosporin.

Re: Stress chewing
Emmy has realized that there are (fake) plants in the living room. She is now enthralled and no longer concerned about the dog. lol
She still slept under my pillow last night, though. Weirdo.
Izzy, I've never seen her happier.

Re: Stress chewing
Yep, at my parents' house. Izzy and Tyler have lived together before, so they're fine.
I really am happy to see that Izzy is feeling so good here. She definitely likes having more space. She doesn't spook at every noise anymore, and her fur is growing back in on her tail just fine, which means she's not chewing at it anymore. She has lots of windows to stare out, and lots of people to pet her.
Emmy has been spending more time out of the bedroom today, coming out all on her own. But still pretty skittish. Progress, though.

Slvrwhispr - you MUST get a picture of Emmy peeking out from behind that headboard! I'd love to see it. Glad to hear things are calming down and getting better.
