How is she feeling?
I am not amused at all that the dr. didn't take the thyroid seriously. although I have Hyperthyroidism myself and might be a tad over sensitive to dr's not doing what they should.
The squash can cause diarrhea as well.
Has there been anything else going on with her, how has she been the last few weeks?

Re: Hyperthyroidism?
Thanks for asking--Phoebe seems much better though there is still dark stuff in the ear they treated. They did tell me there was still some scab material inside that would have to work its way out. She's always much happier after I've cleaned the debris out of her ear.
I've gradually changed her from Meow Mix dry food to Purina One dry food (half hairball control, half senior), which she really likes, and she's still getting half of her diet as canned Friskies senior with some squash.
I think that the reason the hyperthyroidism finding wasn't investigated a second time was that the first time it was just "borderline," and the symptoms she'd been having didn't fit the typical hyperthyroid picture. The vet wants to wait and look into the hyperthyroidism question later if need be.
