Want To Help The Strays!

Post by Squrrrl »

There are some babies running around outside. They look about the same as my guy, who is almost 4 months old. (Vet thinks he was born last week of march)

So ya I've seen a few and each time they look different colours so I don't think its the same cat over and over hehe.

So I live in a condo I don't have any yard access but they are always at the dumpsters....

Do I leave food out? Try to catch them??

What do i do?

:?

sounds like you live near a dumping area for irresponsible pet owners, have that alot here whenever semesters end for college (students leave and dump pets in various neighborhoods).

whatever you can, perhaps find an adoption (no kill) center and take them in if you cannot take them in yourself. just a suggestion, thanks for trying.

You can try calling your vet or local humane society for contact numbers for rescue organizations in your area. Most areas have groups that can rescue and foster until a proper home can be found for the pet.

Do not take to a kill-shelter, you know what their demise would be. A NO-kill shelter maybe, but even then, you can't garantee they will survive.

I wanted to try to catch them myself and care for them.... is that probably a bad idea?

Also I will be moving in February so I don't wanna start feeding them and then just move and leave them with nothing.

Squrrrl,

Here are some web sites that might help you.

Alley Cat Allies
http://www.alleycat.org/

Pets 911
http://www.pets911.com/

This one has a section where you can type in your zip code and they will give you a list of rescue groups in your area.

Good Luck!
