Oh, Emmy...

I got some VERY annoying news (not bad news, just... annoying) about DH's return home, and I was typing very loudly and angrily as I was ranting to a friend. And Emmy put her paw on my hand. To the point of digging claws in to grip my finger. Like, "Mom, stop. I'm trying to nap and you're being loud." It got me laughing and calmed my anger a bit.

See? She's got way too much personality for such a small critter...

Aw yeah, right there, under the chin... that's the spot...

This cat is OBSESSED with having her head scratched. She always has been. If you touch her head while she's in a dead sleep, she will LEAP right up and put her head in your hand to be scratched. The funniest part is sometimes she'll walk up to me for a scratch and I'll just hold her head (lightly) in my hand. She won't struggle, she won't move, not a whisker. But eventually she'll look up and make eye contact like, "Um, scratching now?"

And heaven forbid she sees a hand free and not doing anything. She'll run across the room, jump up on the couch, and SHOVE her head in your hand. I'm usually happy to oblige, but occasionally that hand that looks to her like it isn't doing anything is actually holding, say, a book, or a plate of food. But it's all the same to her.

And if you say her name in a happy, excited voice, her head will pop up like a prairie dog and she'll reply, "Mowr mowr mowr?" And then come running.

She amuses me. Izzy just watches quietly from the back of the couch. I think she sighs and shakes her head, to be perfectly honest.

Just think, some time ago, she was just a tiny little waif wandering and crying for someone to rescue her.

You are blessed! :P The pics are adorable!

P.S., hubby's homecoming still on schedule?

I always love seeing your photos of Izzy and Emmy silver!! I'm glad to hear that things worked out...hoping for the same with Willow and Chunk. Sometimes I'm wondering if I should have taken one of the females instead. In fact there was a little girl in the litter who looks a lot like your Emmy!

Glad to hear your hubby will be coming home soon!
