That's great. But *sigh* I guess you can't name the company here.

Re: slvrwhispr's furkids!
Sigh. I feel like a mom to teenagers. I got some gifts with some really fun packaging (dense chunks of cardboard), so I got down on the floor with the cats to play... and they looked at me like I'd lost it. I batted the "toys" at them and they just stared. So I grabbed one of their jingle balls and tossed it, and they just walked away.
So I leave to go take a shower and what do I see when I come back? Those two goofballs playing with the packing materials! They're too old/cool to play with mommy.

LOL- welcome to motherhood. But I bet they still curl up with you. Angel sometimes loves her boxes more that the toys I pay money for.

Oh yes. I get snuggles constantly. Emmy made me laugh last night; I had been sitting on the edge of the couch playing a video game, and when I was done and leaned back, she didn't even give me time to get comfy before she was curled up on my lap.
And of course, when it's time for food, I'm their very most favorite person.
Kids!

Don't feel bad, slvr, it happens to me all the time. You must know by now you can't control them, they control you

Re: slvrwhispr's furkids!
Soooo glad to be back with my kitties. They missed me and have been pretty clingy, which I don't mind. Izzy is zonked out on my lap, while Emmy is mesmerized by the small fire I have going. I've had fires before and she wasn't this fascinated, but that was last winter. She was loafed in front of the grate but the loaf collapsed and now she's completely out.
(It looks like stuff is dangerously close to the fire in the pic, but it's a deep fireplace, small fire, AND there are two grates. Camera phone was all I had handy and it kind of distorts perspective.)

Well... I'm glad to be back with the kittens. I missed them an awful lot. But to be honest, Detroit is home. Texas isn't. I'm homesick like crazy.
Hubby gets home in two weeks. After that he's got 60 days before he's done with the Army, and then we're probably moving back to Michigan (unless he finds an awesome job here). Already been scoping out apartments. Figure we'll crash with my parents for a little while until one or the other of us finds a job (shouldn't be too bad... cost of living up there has bottomed out in most places because of the crap economy, but there ARE jobs to be had if you're willing to look).
The only thing that is annoying me is that a lot (but not all) of the apartments I've been looking at are cat friendly, but say your cats have to be declawed. Um, NO. No, they don't. And you can not take my money, too. So there. Grumble...

Do you still talk to your old vet in MI? If so, have him write up a brief page on declawing and recommendation not to, if you know what I mean. Show it to the landlord. Not saying it will help, but landlords are idiots.
Yes, they want to protect their drapes and carpets, but that's what deposits are for, freaking idiots! (some landlords are open to accepting slightly more on the deposit - a "pet" deposit if you will).

Re: slvrwhispr's furkids!
I had to pay a $500 pet deposit AFTER the $500 security deposit on my apartment here in Texas... and they still say they want to me to pay to have the carpet fixed in the one corner where they clawed at it. Um, no. It doesn't cost more than a grand to fix a 2" area of carpet; try again.
I don't even think my old vet is there anymore... drove past the building and either they moved, or they went out of business. Probably because they wanted $400 to spay a kitten... *grumble* They were the best as far as care went, but they priced themselves out of the market up there.
